Alanna Streiman, Registered Psychotherapist, M.A.

Are you looking for not just any therapist, but the right therapist?

My goal is to provide a safe and supporting landing space for you amongst your busy week. I work best with clients who enjoy a collaborative approach to therapy, the flexibility to decide what’s important to them, and look to me to provide the tools to guide them there. It’s a common misconception that therapists are in the business of giving advice where I shine is offering clients coping strategies, alternative approaches, or gentle challenges (working together, you'll likely hear “okay, can I gently challenge that thought?”) and allowing them to implement what resonates for them.

I work with clients who are working through feelings of anxiety, struggling with their ADHD, setting boundaries with family, anxiety around sex, and more.

My Approach

I follow my clients’ lead in what works best for them—whether that’s being solution-focused, lending an ear, creating an action plan, or offering them a way to see things from a new perspectiveMaybe you’ve been leaning on your friends for support and feel you need a little bit more—if so, I’m here to listen like a friend would, but without biases or judgement, and with the formal training to provide tools for you to work through what’s challenging you.

If this sounds like something you're looking for, I hope to hear from you soon!

Areas of Focus

For a comprehensive list, please visit Services.

Therapy for Anxiety

I provide effective strategies to reduce anxiety symptoms by getting to the root of the intrusive thoughts, encouraging you to separate them from grounded thinking, and offering coping strategies that bring your anxiety down. My goal is to help you free up mental space that the anxiety is filling!

I also specialize in helping individuals struggling with anxiety related to sex, including pain during intimacy. Whether it's fear, discomfort, or intrusive thoughts affecting your experience, we’ll work together to identify the root causes and develop strategies to ease distress, rebuild confidence, and foster a healthier relationship with intimacy

Therapy for ADHD

Whether you’ve been diagnosed or suspect you have ADHD, I can help you create a healthy relationship with time management, realistic routines, sustainable relationships, intense emotions, and executive functioning overall.

My neurodivergent clients thrive when we work together to create accountability, realistic progress, and remove shame to work with the natural, diverse skillsets ADHD offers-- rather than “fixing” anything.

Therapy for Depression

Managing depressive symptoms is incredibly challenging and I can help you start to feel like yourself again.

Together, we can work through the challenging mental and physical tolls.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my therapy sessions?

I offer 50 minute, virtual therapy sessions that are personalized to address your unique concerns, and focus on achieving your therapy goals. I like to think of the therapy relationship like driving a car, you're in the driver seat and I'm sitting as the passenger. I'm here to offer support and direction, and help you decide which way you would like to go. A cheesy metaphor, I know, and if we work together you can expect more!

How long does therapy take to see results?

The timeline for seeing results in therapy varies for each person, depending on specific concerns and the commitment to the process.

Are you covered under my insurance?

Registered Psychotherapists are covered under most insurance providers. Please double check with your paticular insurance package to ensure that psychotherapy services are covered as each plan is different.

How much does a session cost?

My fee per session is $170. A few sliding scale spots are available. If cost is a concern, let’s talk about options.
